based in Florida USA, was supplying computer systems for government,
commercial and military clients worldwide…in an environment that also
included a highly successful Closed Loop Business Reporting System in the
early days of Asset Management and MRP.
career progressed with increased levels of responsibility within roles that
included Project Planning, Master Scheduling and Supervision. I was
part of 5 Start-Up Teams during transitions from manual to computerized
Resource Planning/Management Systems, in both development and training
capacities. These companies included international players I.T.T.,
Brunswick Corporation and McDonnell-Douglas.
the Defense Industry shifted into developing
trends, I pursued a career within an area of great personal interest:
Social Services. I worked in a One Stop Career Center
in 3 areas: assisting walk-in clients with both benefits and career
services, overseeing a sector of Services for Adults in Transition and
Crisis and I also oversaw a program that assisted high school dropouts and
young offenders continue their education and enter the job market.
with my primary career, I developed several sole proprietor businesses
related to personal interest, including ‘Fish Notes’, a residential and
commercial aquarium set-up and maintenance service and another in Landscape
Design, Installation and Maintenance. The lessons learned through
small business ownership provide a level of understanding and knowledge
that is only understood and learned to its fullest through that
experience. Customer Service and Quality Control prove to be a key to
success and I put a lot of emphasis in those areas.
am an avid writer of poetry and have been since childhood. I am
currently working on a semi-autobiographical book I hope to have published
in the next 5 years. I am also in the early stages of growing a
business in which I am developing my line of handmade, nature themed
Christmas/Hanukkah ornaments and had a very successful launch at the Leeds
Castle 2009 Christmas Craft Show.
relocated to the United Kingdom from my home on the Central East Coast of
Florida, USA in 2002 and now live with my husband, Mark Shanley, who was
born and raised in Kent, England. Mark is the Hardware and Software
Specialist for both clients and Spectrum ABC…a very talented resident Geek!
